Perttu Murto
We are proud to announce that our ‘desktop’ section just got an extreme makeover, and about time too. We have had the same shite in there since we launched a little over a year ago. So due thanks go to our new Finnish friend Perttu Murto for polishing the FMCS ballz.

Now let us introduce this fantastic young talent who is rocking our world, and who’s design and artwork is soon to be seen dominating the billboards, TV screens, internet and i-podhookuptoeverythinginyourhousegadgets near you.
Perttu Murto is a Finnish, graphic artist who started working with graphics & photography way back in 2003. And in 2007, despite his relatively young age (21-year-old), he has already begun to acquire respect trough out the graphic design world and the international design community as the man to make your marketing and promotions look slick as hell.
The man is ‘all that’ and he is still only in his first year of an IT course at the Oulu Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Finland.
FMCS: Hey Perttu how’s thing man?
Perttu: Pretty good, pretty good. Listening some Rammstein and working on some graphics.
FMCS: Where you based? And what’s going down there? Besides that why are you there?
Perttu: Im based in Finland, Oulu. Nothing is going on here really… I’m here because I go school over here. Hopefully it’s over soon and I can go fulltime job, working graphics.
FMCS: Firstly we wanted to say thanks for the new desktops section on the site, nice work! You hit our sights a little while back through Depthcore could you tell the readers a little bit about this project as we understand you were one of the founders?
Perttu: No problem at all, first I wanna say I am not one of the founders over Depthcore, I’m just an artist over there.
Depthcores founder is Justin Maller, great guy from Australia. Depthcore is an art group and we will release art pack every month. So basically that means you can find about 30 fresh and awesome artworks on depthcore.com site every month.
FMCS: Now we understand you’re a busy guy, also your involved in harhakuva.org? What’s going on here? Where do you get all the energy from? Both Depthcore and harhakuva.org are big projects!
Perttu: I am one of the founders and admin in www.harhakuva.org It’s site related to Finnish designers, photographers and bands. So if you can talk Finnish, feel free to join and put your stuff up!
Where do I get my energy? Well I love what I do, I do what I love. (I hope that would work with my studies too ha-ha…)
FMCS: With your involvement in the above do you get much time left to get wrapped up in your personal design work?
Perttu: Actually not so much in these days. It’s bad, because with personal artworks you don’t have anyone to say what they wanna that you do. You can just do what you feel like, without thinking “will this sell or not?” It’s the best way to improve your skills in my opinion.
FMCS: We love your style, and wanted to focus on its roots and how it all began! Do you get influenced easily by others production and styles?
Perttu: Thanks! Well I don’t know, I really love this guy Drew Flaherty, maybe his style is closest to mine. I have known him few years (He is also artist in Depthcore). I just produce what I got in my mind. Not thinking what “style” it is.
And quoting Salvador Dali: “Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing.”
FMCS: Do you think it’s important for a designer to have a style, or have an inherent versatility for many different ways of design style application?
Perttu: Well I don’t think “style” is that important. Everyone should just do stuff they feel and what looks cool. Not thinking what style they will do. But if you wanna produce only one style what you think fits to you and your skills, go ahead.
FMCS: Would you ever compromise your style and tastes that you hold dear, and apply well, if awkward clients would dictate as such?
Perttu: of course, that’s the difference between client and personal works. You have to make something what they like and want.
FMCS: What moves have you got planned for 2007? Got any big projects / plans in the pipeline?
Perttu: I don’t know yet, I haven’t think anything ha-ha. Well some nice client works would be nice.
FMCS: Thanks for the short ‘get to know you’ session!
Perttu: No problem!
FMCS: Any shout outs before we both jet?
Perttu: Keep up the awesome site and have a nice day!
