FMCS: Hi Mklane how are you today?
I’m fine thanks!
FMCS: Tell us a little about yourself, where you are from and why you live where you do!
It’s hard for me to write so much about myself as I am not very strong in English language, so I will leave my illustrations to speak for me
FMCS: When I last visited Rome in 2002 I accidentally dropped 10 Euros on the Via Condotti. You haven’t seen it have you?
It’s a long time since I have been to the Via Condotti. I am sure you will have made someone happy
FMCS: How long have you been working as a specialist creative?
I have been working in this area for over 15 years, but my passion for the comics and illustration began long before that!
FMCS: What’s so special about colors and lines anyway?
When you succeed in balancing colours and lines, you have made the ‘BINGO’ effect. Often I see illustrators and designers who can do this beautifully.
FMCS: Who/what inspires you to create?
I try to inspire myself through my own creativity. And sometimes I try to realize another’s vision of things, which can really open eyes.
FMCS: Please provide your thoughts on the importance of illustration in today’s highly visual marketplace.
Illustration is like painting, a lot is important, but often illustration is highly underrated. Many people still believe that some concepts can be only represented with photography.
FMCS: Have you ever stroked a Tiger?
…for my small cousins.
FMCS: How long does it take to usually put a concept piece of illustration together?
That depends on the concept, but sometimes, in less than 30 seconds. However to reach a finished piece takes much longer.
FMCS: Have you any plans to animate what you do?
At this moment no.
FMCS: What do you do to relax?
I read books or a magazine, I sleep, hang out with my girlfriend…and many other things.
FMCS: In the FMCS office Nik Nak is our favorite James Bond film bad guy. Who is yours and why?
Fight Club is my preferred film. Because It is a film about control between humans, based on the fact that in every person contains a double personality.
FMCS: Shout outs?
FMCS: Thanks for the interview, lots of luck in the future.
Thanks…and the question on the tiger was fantastic!
