D&AD has announced that Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web in 1989, will receive the President’s Award for outstanding contribution to creativity.

<a href="http://www.dandad.org/ "target="_blank">

The annually bestowed honour was revealed at the D&AD Global Awards Ceremony & Dinner in London.

“HTML, URL, HTTP – all these things that people around the world take for granted are down to Sir Tim Berners-Lee,’ said D&AD President Tony Davidson. “He had the vision to create a network that allows people to share knowledge freely across the Internet. The amazing thing is that he told everyone how to use it for free by – you guessed it – posting it on the Internet.

<a href="http://www.dandad.org/ "target="_blank">

Thanks to his innovation, designers have taken the Web to whole new levels of creativity, resulting in 2 D&AD Black Pencil-awarded websites in 2 years.”

“Think back ten years and you realise how much the Web’s changed our lives. We bid for products on eBay, communicate with Skype and Facebook, and discover new music that has never been played over the airwaves. We share files, photos and advice with people we’ll never meet and create whole other worlds for ourselves in Second Life - and this is only the beginning of the Web’s potential.

We owe the very shape of our lives today to Sir Tim.”

That’s right folks! Never be fooled again…although ‘they’ may put on a good show, and have some human mannerisms (see above) figured out, you will now be able to single them out where ever you go with the handy Tokyoflash biohazard watch.

Not only does this watch err…tell the time. But the manufactures go on to describe…

’ The Biohazard watch uses an advanced color LCD display to simulate the effect you might see on Mr. Spocks tri-coder or in many Science Fiction films. The readout, in fact, tells the time by counting the colored segments’.

Yes that’s right…. We quote… ‘to simulate the effect you might see on <a href="http://www.schafplanet.de/botschaft/besucher/SPOCK.jpg "target="_blank">Mr. Spocks tri-coder’ Now if that doesn’t sell the dang thing to you I don’t know what will.

So next time you see somebody pulling the ‘thumbs up sign’, or the ‘Heyyyy don’t I know you?’ (see above) remember where you saw this handy (wristy), possible life-saving gadget!

Cause if you don’t spot them first they will eat your head! With err…like a sucking kinda slurping action, and like your head it just like explodes…wow its like totally trippy!

Hmm! While roaming this morning we came a’cross’ this wee fella the ‘Saint B’. A concept by Russian studio, ManWorks.

And we sit on the fence here! We are unsure… Is it made with the express purpose of warding off evil bad music? (In which case, hopefully P-Diddy may combust at the site of it).

Or is this just another case of purely innocent design tinkering? However we are just not to sure about the moral issue on making a cross into a music player. I mean we know that to some people the I-pod is infact considered a religious artifact…but this is maybe talking it a little too far.

We are sure that the majority of the FMCS devil worshipping readership will have no problems about it, or even wearing it upside down. But I think I would be too worried about being smite down by a thunder bolt to the head.

I have a good friend, infact a a guy that got me into publishing online through his own endeavors with blogging that in-turn inspired me and got me addicted. You see the thing is here…and the point to this post is that this guy is retarded when it comes to getting on planes. He is forever having problems with his computer equipment, loosing his data etc… as soon as he steps in an airport. Given that he travels loads (international man whore) he of course takes a mobile office where ever he goes. Backing up his data has now become a religious duty for him.

If you’re suffering from the same problems with clumsy airport staff / security dropping shit, and the wonders of electromagnetic radiation sending your data into another dimension. Then check out Sam’s tips or the new FREE service from Mozy.

Especially useful if you work for the secret services and you are prone to leaving your goverment issue Dell in cafes and the back seats of taxi cabs.

The system is democratic and weeds out the bad sites really easily by allowing you to vote by using an ‘I like it’, ‘I don’t like it’ formula. This is a great way to find new quality sites for the subjects that you want.

“Dear Diary…

…So like, I have to go out and fix the dumb ass humidifier filters for my uncle, and then he wants me to go and pick up some dumb ass new droids from the Jawa’s. Jeez! I hate those guys… with their dumb ass Jawa jibber jabber. I would much rather be out in my landspeeder. Man there’s nothing else to do here! I really hope I get off this dumb ass planet soon.”

Wanna feel like your living on Tatouine? Go to Calearth and get yourself one of these dirt cheap eco houses, and then you can fulfill your fantasies of living like a young Skywalker.

Price: $2,400 for a single unit (400sq. ft. approx), $3,200 for double unit (800sq. ft. approx.), includes shipping. California residents please add sales tax. (Additional charge of 25% for each repeated unit).

The ‘Eco-Dome’s’ size of approximately 400sq. ft. (interior space), makes it a manageable structure for the first time owner/ builder. The finished "very small house" is self-contained, and can become a small guest house, studio apartment, or be the first step in a cluster design of an ‘Eco-Village’ of vaults and domes.

Maybe then one day you will return back home to find that Imperial Troops have murdered your adoptive parents and left you with a mission to save the universe, with only a tweeking dustbin-droid and a rather gay robot for help.
