So heads up… GRAFUCK 3 comes out in December 2007. The release of this book will also coincide with a Grafuck gallery exhibit at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles that will feature new and original works by <a href="http://sixmonthsoflight.com "target="_blank">Alaska! Among other Grafuck contributors.

Well worth waiting for! This publication is guaranteed to build on the others in-terms of really pushing a topic (design + raw sex) that has lots of potential. And which very few artists and designers are tackling.

They could do with loosing a few mullets, square blacked framed specs, the smart car etc… But besides those small grumblings they are generally very nice human beings.

And that’s what writer Lee McCormick illustrates when he says “Don’t be a wanker! Embrace what it means to be a professional designer. Making the transition from design student to successful creative often involves a lot of reassessment, adaptation and resignation–just when you thought you’d cracked it and got that qualification, you realize that your actual education starts here….” How true, the real world of pain has just begun!

<a href="http://www.youworkforthem.com/product.php?sku=P1029 "target="_blank">

A great book and a great read with some really helpful points and some very smart interviews with Neville Brody, Jason Kirk, Karim Rashid, Piers Roberts and Paul Smith

Conceived of as a celebration of portraiture in the 21st century, Two Faced unfolds over two sections and offers an interesting, unique and often amusing look at the art form.

The first section of the book showcases a selection of portraits in various mediums by well known artists. The second section then sees these image-makers divided into pairs and charged with the task of producing each other’s portraits.

The wide variety of artists involved spans many disciplines and includes Marion Deuchars, David Shrigley, Michael C. Place, eBoy, Rankin, Simon Henwood, Stella Vine, Ian Wright, Paul Willoughby, and filmmaker Shynola.

<a href="http://youworkforthem.com/product.php?sku=P1004 "target="_blank">

How did each artist respond to their subject and to their task? What does each image reveal about both the sitter and the artist responsible? Find out in Two Faced, not simply a collection but an art project that celebrates the notion of cultural exchange through the talents of some of the most in-demand artists of our time.
