Anyone for Ping Pong?

Not a new one by a long way! This project has been around for a while! But continues to look good and continues to get respect.

Ping Pong remix project started by illustrator Gaston Caba is an idea of allowing two people to create one piece of art work/illustration uncertain of the results.

Nuff said check out the site for the bigger picture…

P.s. The Ping Pong project also features collaborations with Via Via and Koadzn FMCS friends.

SMOSH OFF

So these housebound funny-guys have finally hit the NEW YORK TIMES in an article praising the antics of the heroes of youtube.com. Smosh’s ‘Pokemon lip sinc’ video has accumulated a staggering 6.8 million hits, and has been ripped off by almost as many others (lets call them tributes).

Also take a look at their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Power Rangers and the latest… Mortal Kombat theme tune videos. Lo-tech slapstick vs High camp wit.

Perhaps we are witnessing, at last, the birth of the first genuine web based comedy heroes and they aren’t even selling anything, except a couple of printed tees.

I just hope MTV doesn’t offer them a TV slot and ruin the whole thing… though I’m sure they will…."video killed the internet star"

“Sneakerhead.”

He’s looking for the newest, most limited-edition kicks he can find and will stop at nothing, nothing to get ‘em…

The most expensive retail available sneakers were the Adidas Micro-pacers. Only 500 pairs were produced, and they were selling for $600 (not on e-bay where crazy Japs will pay any price to add to their collections) but in regular shops…

But Nike trumped that with the “Also Known As” Air Force 1.

Rumour has it that there are fewer than 40 pairs of these Nike limited editions produced in conjunction with a book celebrating the art of graffiti.

The sneakers were only given to people involved with the release of the book, but Nom de Guerre, a Manhattan men’s boutique (with additional locations in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Toronto and Tokyo,) had a pair on display.

The shoes weren’t for sale when I visited  but are expected to fetch between $1,000 and $1,500 when Nom de Guerre decides to release them.

However playing basketball in them would be rather like playing cricket in a mink lined jock-box…. Actually that sounds quite nice…mmmmm fast paced googlies all round.

( If you need an explanation of "googlie" then take up cricket. )
